York OB5 Cold Start Guide

  1. Take the front side off by unscrewing the latches and pulling them free. Screw the legs attached to the side into the coners and attach it to the side of the OB kit.
  2. Locate an ethernet port at your location. Look for sockets on walls or look for WiFi access points on the wall as there may be a socket it connects to.
  3. Connect one end of the long ethernet cable (stored inside the OB kit) to the socket you've found and connect the other end to the ethernet socket labelled "Internet In" on the MikroTik Router (the smaller one below the network switch).
  4. Find the power plug inside the OB kit and connect that to the nearest power socket, then connect the large 16A power connector to the port that is labelled power in on the back.
  5. Pull the end of one the IEC cables (kettle leads) out of the OB kit and connect it to your second video monitor.
  6. Connect the HDMI cable (in the OB kit) from the patch labeled monitor out on the front, to the video monitor.
  7. Ensure the power breaker on the back is on and the switch at the top of the OB kit on the front is on, then the press the PC's power button at the front.
  8. Wait until the PC has logged itself in and opened OBS, then check you have an internet connection.
  9. In OBS, click on the "View" tab in the top left, then "Multi-view (Full-Screen)" and select the bottom option in the list that shows up (if the multiview opens on the wrong screen then repeat but choose the other option).
  10. Get the Streamdeck out from the OB kit, ensure it is plugged into the PC (the USB hub on the top can be used) and hand it to the vision mixer.
  11. When the camera operators run an SDI cable over to you, plug it into one of the SDI ports on the front of the OB kit.
  12. When you're ready, press start streaming in OBS and let the MCR know.
